2008 Inventory Results

An NBCH/CCHI report, "Community Health Partnerships Inventory Report", released today suggests that NBCH coalitions are working with public health on many common interests, and are very interested in building new relationships in a Community Health Partnership (CHP).
The key report findings include:
- There is a high level of interest among NBCH coalitions in building working relationships with public health, as well as the identification of a significant number of existing relationships.
- There is a high degree of correlation between collaboration with public health on diabetes or cardiovascular projects and government employers' participation as coalition board members.
- There is a high potential to expand existing relationships between coalitions and public health, and grow new ones based on the identification of common interests including condition-specific areas such as diabetes and obesity, and evidence-based tools/intervention strategies to advance population health.
- Finally, coalitions are using creative strategies for convening stakeholders at a community level and building a culture of collective leadership.
Funding for this report was generously provided through CCHI's Cooperative Agreement with the Centers for Disease Control. For more information, please contact Sonia Kim, NBCH's Director of Value-Based Purchasing.
